This has been a very frustrating series as an england fan

I was expecting us to get pasted and I'd say we have actually competed quite well in a series most thought would be 5-0 and one sided

Today sums up the series really, we get India 310-6 and have hope of a lead

A catch is dropped off the wrong batsmen at the wrong time and next thing you know the score is 450-7

The runs Indias last four wickets have scored in the last two tests have completely crippled us

It would be less annoying if we were getting pasted by a much better team but we keep getting into a position from which a win is possible only to fall at the final hurdle and let India off the hook.

I thought the captaincy during the initial stages of the kohli/jadeja partnership was appalling and enabled them to turn the momentum indias way very quickly. Especially the field cook set to jadeja when rashids was bowling and having adil bowl outside leg stump when he should have been trying to take wickets

You also have to wonder why root bowled so little

tbh i thought cook's captaincy all day was pretty terrible

bottled it bringing rashid on this morning and waited til we had seen 90 minutes of play before bringing him on

it hasn't helped him that the squad selection has been appalling so we have a poorly balanced team on the field but he hasn't used his bowlers very well at all imo

With 51 runs lead we have to bowl England below 200.

Better not to get chasing target of more than 175 .

I hope we can set you 140 plus

Just so it's a good game

But as you say I don't see us getting much or at all over 2
200

England will have to bowl India soon tomorrow.Every run will cover further cover up Indias challenge batting last.

England clearly have competed better than Aussies did.
I doubt Aussies scored 300 plus in any innings.

400 plus in all first innings they have batted and one match which they ended up as favorites at draw time.

Root says England got selection wrong and didn't need four seamers! Surely they knew that is any pitch would help spin it would be this one?

England have bowled twice as much spin so far in this game.

England have chance to bowl on day 5 at Mumbai however they have two spinners. Good for us.

16 out of 17 wickets are to spinners.

i doubt you would find anyone arguing that having 4 seamers was a good idea

the issue is we dont have anyone to play as a 3rd spinner that anyone has confidence in

Speaking as a neutral, it'll be good for the game if England wrap things up quickly in the morning. India already have a winning lead, given England's frailties. But 100+ lead would make the outcome pretty inevitable.

Tbh I think the games over, would take a miracle from here for England to win and there is no point in us playing for a draw

The only bonus is I have vijay, kohli, Ashwin, jadeja and moeen as my flight team haha

I'm quite happy with how we have played

India just have kohli and Ashwin

They are the difference, in the crunch moments they have stood up and took control

Root should be our kohli but he keeps getting himself out, he could learn a lesson from the way kohli played

Playing four seamers was an absolute joke
