Cricinfo says Ansari (England's first left armer since Monty: Panesari?) will replace Batty and Finn will replace Broad. But Ball won't come in for Woakes.

Should just play their best team.

Sounds like Ballance wil get another go and Haseeb will wait for a debut.

Would have been Broad's 100th Test.

It indeed looks likely that Ansari will get his debut, and will bat 8. Have to wonder about England's thinking on that last part given he averages less than Rashid and Woakes in first class cricket who will both be pushed down a spot, in fact he averages less in First class cricket than Woakes does in Test cricket, bizarre.

Hope he does well, but to be blunt, hist first class record hardly inspires confidence.

The equally daft thing is that Batty, the best spinner in the previous Test, will be dropped for him. Ho hum England, that's not making a lot of sense even for you.

Changes won't make any difference suspect Bangladesh will win the game anyway.

Obviously willing to risk defeat in order to give two other players a run out. Wouldn't happen if Andy Flower and Strauss were still in charge.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

While I agree with the sentiment, I don't see what giving a player 1 Test tells you, or why Ansari didn't play in the first Test. What did we need to learn about Batty that past nearly 20 years in the game haven't told us. Conversely what if Ansari has a bad game? Are we to cast him out the same way Kerrigan was?

Batty is the seasoned pro that might be able to do a job for England in India. Risking a new player for 1 test does not make sense. Unless he is going to play in India?
