Averages in India since the start of 2014. Pretty scary.

Six Tests in getting on for three years is surprisingly few.

Only one batter has passed three figures since 2013.

Should change now with BCCI demanding a home season every year instead of every 2 and half years.

yet some boards don't want india to have an home season aka, SA and Australia.
since it has a major effect on their summer schedule.

And the bowling stats show why. Ashwin and Jadeja are operating at the level of a couple of nineteenth century bowlers.

This is the BD XI cricinfo predicts.

1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Imrul Kayes/Soumya Sarkar, 3 Sabbir Rahman, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Shakib Al Hasan, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Mosaddek Hossain, 8 Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), 9 Mosharraf Hossain, 10 Shafiul Islam, 11 Taskin Ahmed

England's picks itself.

My hunch is BD will win the series. Winning one game wouldn't be terrible for England.

BD haven't lost a series for over two years, and in that time have beaten India, SA and Pakistan (full strength sides).

Some rain likely. My abiding memory of games played in BD is the remarkable amount of dew. So the toss might be a big factor.

Due is bad and generally the chasing teams wins.
although it makes Bangladesh recent win special since I believe due was bad and Afghanistan had the best conditions couple times with the ball and bat.

generally remember bangladesh games being tacky, turgid, slow and the best batting conditions in the evening when the due makes the ball come on the bat more easily.

Toss doesn't tend to be a huge factor in BD, looking at results. But better to bat first.

TBH that is usually the case when the home team is dominant.
if Bangladesh won last 6 home series that generally means they were winning irrespective of what they were doing, but they generally had it easier when they were bowling first.
probably shows how strong Bangladesh are now that they making the toss advantage irrelevant.

Although should be noted the technology available to groundsmen to stop Due is gone to a next level can't actually remember the last time due actually effected games in England, india, Bangladesh so maybe that is why the toss advantage is gone from the subcontinent or not that important anymore.

Pretty raw stat, but since the start of 2014, the side batting first has done better.

absolutely ridiculous now that the actual security operation drill had tv cameras and media men watching to see how the operation goes.
surely the plans should be kept quiet or hidden.
