Think England should go for a really big score and see if scoreboard pressure impacts Pakistan.

Highest scores at Old Trafford in Tests.

Some way to go.

Well done to Woakesy on his second Test fifty. Averages 50.0 at six...

Unfortunate way to get out but right decision was made

Was a little noise and a mark on hotspot

Terrible use of DRS, the third umpire should be sacked.

The hot spot on the glove was there before and after the ball passed.

He may have hit it but you can't give that out, batsman benefit and not out on the field.

The noise was his feet and the mark was there before. The umpire even said it himself. I seriously question the thought processes of some people.

Looks like 600 before close this evening and 8-10 overs at Pakistan.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

The mark wasn't there before

He said he thought it might have been there before but on a second look realised it wasn't

There was an obvious spike on snicko in between the background noise which could only have been one thing

Not sure Yasir should be bowling tbh

Should be saving himself for the second innings

50 overs must take its toll on the shoulder, fingers etc

I must have problematical eyesight, because the mark was there before and after, clear as day.

I could only pick up the noise of his feet, nothing off the glove. Fact is you can't hear much off the glove.

Snicko was the only possible pointer towards him hitting it, nothing else, so he may well have hit it.

I thought you had to be 100% certain to overturn the onfield umpire, which he clearly wasn't because he took about 10 minutes to make up his bloody mind.

Been out for a couple of hours so missed Root getting his double ton and Woakes getting his 50.

Just seen us getting to 500 now. Possibly a declaration an hour after tea I reckon.

Yas has Bairstow dropped by Sarfraz. That'll be costly.

Surely England will want to start tomorrow with a relatively hard ball given the forecast of clouds and maybe some rain, so at most 15 overs at Pakistan this evening?
