Mo is scoring runs in Tests, but not getting enough for a number seven in limited overs. I guess that's why he's not playing.

Rashid has been pretty good in this series, but Mo's bowling stat were better before this summer. As good a SR, but more economical.

When they were the best T20 side, these players didn't get a chance. Still, Yorks are poor at LO, but provide a winning side for England in the format.

not sure mo is scoring runs in Test cricket either,
averages mid 20 if you remove the current sri lanka series with the bat.

in Current form Rashid is the clear number 1 spinner, not really sure what Ali provides in the Test team at the moment.
he won't win games with the ball or provide a economical bowler to create pressure.

At the moment rashid got great control and getting the ball to turn quite a bit in surfaces Ali would struggle to get any turn or movement.
When Leg spinners are bowling this well they should be automatic selection in all games.

Mo had a good series against SL. Was influential with the bat against Australia. Averages over 30 since he came back from injury against WI. Which is fine for a number seven or eight. He's not going to get in as a top order bat. As a bowler, he's just there to support the four main bowlers. He's not much of a match winner and has tailed off after initial promise.

If Rashid is going to be a match winning bowler, then he should play. I suspect he'll give away a boundary an over, and won't be as dangerous with the batters not needing to attack him. He's unlikely to do better than Mo is doing with the bat. But if Mo isn't the main bowler, he won't play. He doesn't score enough runs for an occasional bowler.
