Smith looked in fine touch. Should have pushed on for a big score. Consolidation should be his next target.

After their poor start 183 is probably about as good as you would expect.

New Zealand were in a worse position on the first day of their previous 2 Basin Reserve Tests. Will be silly to write them off. 3rd innings is the best time to bat here.

For some reason, I had in my mind that you had put 190-2. So, a pretty good shot by AC.

At 5/2 it was not looking good though.

Aussies day but unwise to write off the Kiwi's. 7 wickets for 120 and some good batting tilts the game back in their favour.

Easier batting with an older ball though. If Australia last to twenty overs of the second new ball they'll be well ahead. Still, their form batters are in, if NZ get them early there may be hope.

So Bracewell had a catch dropped and took a wicket with a mistakenly called no ball. He is the Kiwi Ben Stokes. Unless Stokes is the Kiwi Stokes.

im sure they would be very happy to swap

one thing you cant be doing when you have a small total is drop the oppositions best player, you have to take everything to have a chance

this definitely wasnt a 180 all out pitch as shown by the ease with which craig batted

that wasnt even close to being a no-ball

Once it's called you can't reverse it though can you. It can only ever be in the batter's favour.

Ouch, just seen it! Umpire's going to feel bad about that one.

After Nigel Llong in Adelaide, what is it about NZ and English umpires?

Is this fact?

It was a major blunder. I am pleased it went against the Kiwis not Aus.

Aus now have their noses in front with no further loss of wickets. They would be hoping for a 150-200 run lead, I imagine. Bat all day would be even better.
