He doesn't seem to get picked for Test tours with much likelihood of getting on the field.

wasn't he known has unlucky pankaj, was a bit unlucky bowled well in his debut, Dropped catches, decision going against him/india although I believe DRS wouldn't make a difference was more umpire call I think.

Lost confidence quickly though.

He's also one fine innings, or two decent ones (117 runs) from becoming England's first member of the 10,000 run club - something that was on the cards since his debut as a 21 year old in India ten years ago . :salute

Don't think he's made the most runs as opener yet. I think he's about 300 short of Sunny just yet.

302 runs and amazingly seven tons short of the Little Master.

South Africa Team
D Elgar, SC Cook, HM Amla, AB de Villiers*, JP Duminy, T Bavuma, Q de Kock†, KJ Abbott, M Morkel, K Rabada, DL Piedt

Quite a few changes there....

Cook replaces van Zyl as opener.

Duminy replaces FAF in the middle order.

DeKock takes back teh gloves from Vilas.

Abbott replaces Morris as a pacer who can bat a little bit.

Piedt the spinner comes in for the disappointing pacer Viljoen.

Just woken up. A quick glance at Cricinfo suggests Bairstow missed a tough chance off Moeen to Hamish.

And he's just missed a bad one off Broad as I type, to Cook..

It was between first and second slip, more toward first slip, but JB pushed it out of Cook's range. I guess you'd say that given he went for it, he had to get it. He does seem to have limited grabbing range on the off side.

Fifty for the other Cook on his debut. England shipping runs.

Old man Cook gets his half-century....
:clap
He really should've played ahead of van Zyl.

Amla gets his 50 too....
:clap :clap
Was the captaincy a burden for him?
