Sorely missed, especially in the international game. Though B.Mac has doubters amongst some sections of the home support.

Not often you can say an opposite player who was influential in killing off and resurrecting England in ODIs, for that reason alone he goes down as legend status.
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

Agreed, rather surprising that he didn't stay until the World T20. New Zealand probably have as good a shot at it as anyone, although it is in Asia. According to cricinfo he wanted a home finish.

He's had a back problem. Not his best year with the bat. As the NZ players don't get paid much, maybe he wants to do a couple of circuits of the T20 circus. Maybe he wants to hand over while the team is doing well. Don't know though.

KW likely to take over.

Still no reason why he's retiring right before the World T20 starts.

He said he wants to finish at home.

Missed the start here. I was looking forward to seeing how Milne and Henry were going, after they gave me the impression they were burned out by expectation and responsiblity (at a tender age) last winter. But they've wrecked the SL batting already.

Drop!

Typical BMac ODI field. Three slips and a gully.

Wonder if he'll bowl their spells out?

Could be even worse than Zimbabwe's batting performance.

What a beautiful day at Hagley Oval, the thought of kicking back on the embankment watching cricket accompanied with some fine DJ-ing is a lovely one.

While the ground looks lovely, and the banks are idyllic, give me a stand any day. Terrible viewing from down there.

50 for Siri. Nearly as many as the times I've seen that Chris Tarrant lottery advert.

Well done to Milinda.

Crucial innings from Kulasekara. Thought he was just a slogger but seems a bit better than that.
