Durham gave back the game.
Which is why edgbaston last year hosted 2 limited over games against India and old Trafford hosting two against australia.
Although the edgbaston one was fine had a gap and was another format but old Trafford is just daft 2 games in space of a few days.

Yes the cost of the game to Durham weighed up against the potential interest meant that a couple of ODIs were handed back. I was surprised they gave back the Aus game as it would surely have been close to a sell out but we had the NZ game as well which we kept and turned out to be a good decision as the entertainment in that series ensured a healthy interest in it.

Was more what I think England will do. I would play Topley ahead of Woakes. Not sure how to fit Vince in.

Cricinfo's team leaves those two out. Roy, Billings and Woakes are in the 50 over squad, this is the only chance to look at Topley and Vince. I don't think you need seven batters in T20, so I'd leave out Billing and Roy, both reluctantly and have the bowling options. That still gives you Willey, Rashid and Woakes at 7,8,9.
I always say that everybody's right.

Do England have a travelling announcer? Sounds very similar to the announcer when I went to the Ageas earlier this year :dunno

Yes it used to be Johnny Dennis but he retired a couple of years ago. Not sure who it is now.

my guess is that England will drop Stokes and Wood for this game, on the grounds that they haven't had enough limited over practice since the ashes.

Woods isn't in the squad at all.

Topley has been given his cap according to journalists at the ground. Had an eye on him for a few years, gets plenty of wickets for Essex in all three formats. Not sure about his pace though.

So by my calculations Australia will win the Ashes with 5 wins or retain them with 4 or something like that.

Isn't there a 20/20 match, and the Irish match counts as -2 points remember.

ah... this is a T20 match

my guess is that England will drop Stokes and Wood for the next game, on the grounds that they haven't had enough limited over practice since the ashes.

unless the next game is a T20 as well

I'm really making the point that England allowed everyone to play in their counties QF's apart from the Durham players

Roy yet to convince me in T20 international cricket.

Vince doesn't look like he'll ever get picked, doesn't play for the right county, forget being the top T20 run getter this season.
