Ireland v England, Dublin, May 8.

A little taster for the new international season, traditionally ruined by rain (though the forecast is cloudy and dry). My team:

Roy
Hales
Taylor
Vince
Bairstow
Billings
Ansari
Willey
Gregory
Rashid
Wood

Finn
Bresnan.

Hard to know who will be favourites. Ireland had a better WC, but this is a very different England side. If Ireland are at full strength (I can't find a squad but I hear Tim Murtagh is back) I make them more likely to win.

England tend to beat Ireland in non-competitive games so they'll win it.

Will they play without fear!?

Or some other brand of cricket.

From what I've read that sounds a pretty exciting English team by comparison to other ODIs. Got a very fresh look about it which is no bad thing.

Now it will probably rain!

Yes I think there will be more interest and enthusiasm for the game than if England put out the WC side.

Bresnan and Finn aren't going to both be left out sadly. Bresnan for Ansari probably.

I'd guess they'll both play. That was just my new era side.

Maybe they'll find that Ansari bowls too slowly, on the morning of the match.

Will be a long tail if so. Top 6 looks set in stone as there are no batting reserves.

The weather is not looking good for this game which will be a shame for Ireland.

Also a shame NZ have not managed to fit a tour game in against Ireland.

The sun never seems to shine on England.

This is sort of getting in the way of the Election results.
