Second Test: West Indies v England, April 21-25

Not much of a rest between tests. Changes will be made but who will they be? I'm guessing Moores wants Moeen Ali in asap. Will they ditch Trott one test into his comeback?

More importantly can we take twenty wickets even if it takes up half the test match to do so?

Trott to be given at least the remainder of the series for me. Moeen ( if fit obviously) for Tredwell and I'd go for either Rashid or Wood to replace Jordan.
Where are we expecting Stokes to bat if Moeen comes in?

I would go with Stokes at 6, Buttler 7, Moeen 8.

Don't think England see it that way though. Pretty sure Moeen will bat at 6 then Stokes either 7 or 8.

I have a feeling you will be right, Stokes should stay at 6 but probably will go down the order and that'll leave Buttler too low as well.

I also hope Jimmy starts taking wickets again now he doesn't have to think about that record.

We can't allow that to happen again where we couldn't bowl WIs out in 4 and a bit sessions.

Trott has to be given the rest of the series after everything that has happened. Tredwell bowled well enough to hold up an end but was put to shame by Root as an attacking option. I've said it a few times but I simply can not understand how a spinner who isn't even a first choice county spinner can get a game for England.

Ali, if fit, comes in for Tredwell. England's pacers all look to similar bowling mid 80s, Wood might freshen things up but England don't do logic.

I just hope they don't move Stokes down to 8 again.

thing is it would make as little sense having moeen or buttler at 8 as well

and someone is going to have to do it

if moeen is going to be the main spinner as he was all of last year and stokes the 5th bowler then we end up having to bat at least one person lower than they maybe should be and whoever that is has to just accept that and do their best rather than moan about being batted out of position

In this instance it's sensible to bat Moeen at 8 since he hasn't batted out there yet. To be fair I don't think any player's would moan-that's the prerogative of the media.

England playing a Test in Grenada...I can't help thinking about Kim, who said that he and his wife visited the Spice Island so many times, and loved it so much.

Sorry to put a damper on this....

Not at all Mike.

I'm sure we all think of Kim sometimes. I know I do.

Reminding us of Kim is no damper mike. I often think of him when Sam Hain is batting and knowing how pleased he would be with his success.

Grenada. I presume that's a spinner's venue.

Only two Tests played there, but spinners the big wicket takers.

Particularly in the 2nd innings, this is where Rashid would clean up. New Zealand made the mistake of playing with one spinner in the 2002 test.
