Finishing nights and starting days is a bad time for me.

Plus where I work hasn't replaced seven staff who have left.

Many are off sick with colds or working with them.

And it's the busiest time of the year.

Still, here goes...

Taking the same points for a no result or a draw is fair enough. A minnow will obviously benefit more from a NR, but you can't change the rules, depending who's playing.

Shouldn't be a problem beating us at Perth tbh.

Time to give Ballance, Jordan, Tredwell and Hales a game? Or use this competition as a mini WC with the strongest side, and play the rest of the squad in the warm ups?

I reckon so, but I doubt England management will. Besides, hard to see them resting Finn or Broad and playing Tredwell at the WACA, given its traditional pitch.

I'd rest Bell (clearly in form) and probably Root and bring in Hales and Ballance.

To be honest it's probably time to give the other squad members a run out, as it matters very little if England plays the final on Sunday (what more are we going to learn from another loss to Aus?), but I expect England management will want to pick the squad they feel will give the best prospect of beating India.

I always thought the Fremantle doctor made the WACA a good venue for offies. But I guess only from one end, and they have Moeen.

I'd play Bell, if only to give him the message that he's an important player, and his prep matters. In recent times, he's been treated too much as a fallback. Maybe opening with Hales and having a look at Moeen in the middle order might be worthwhile, as an alternative to Bopara.

Hales
Bell
Ballance
Root
Morgan
Buttler
Moeen
Broad
Tredwell/Jordan
Finn

But I guess they'll go no change. Which is understandable.

Confirmed. England unchanged. India tweaking the bowling again. England to bowl, given overcast conditions and a bouncy pitch. And since it's Perth, it's not a D/N game.

Terrible start for India, no run off the first delivery. I can't see them coming back from here.
