Probably need to replace Rayudu as well surprise uthappa did not get picked ahead of him.
Even more baffling when you considering Dhoni doesn't really rate Rayudu that much.

There is no need to injure Shikhar also. When the media men are with cameras shooting net session for channels, ask the player to run few metres and touch legs and sleep on floor to fake injury. If mediamen are not focussing camera thinking it is minor one, then get a stretcher and put that player on it. Worldwide news will spread in minutes and then replacement will be justified.

Not looking good. India will (?) be helped by a no-result.

Not sure that will ever happen.
At best Ashwin batting 6-7.
Although Ashwin is an annoying batsman to consider in ODI similar to Bresnan/Woakes.
They are more Test match batsman and they don't really slog or score quickly that well probably explains why their list A records are so bad compared to first class or Test records.
Ashwin is probably more suited to batting in the top order but india will never pick him for a spot in the top 4 and if they do india must have some serious injuries/form issues.

Anyway not sure I want Ashwin to be picked as a batsman would mean india having weak batting line up and 7 bowlers. ( assuming you don't want Binny in the side)

Rahane
Rohit
Kohli
Binny
Raina/Ashwin
Dhoni
Jadeja
Bowler
Bowler
Bowler
Bowler

IF raina is in bad form and you replace him with Ashwin that probably damning the selection of only 7 front-line batsman in the squad.

As a lower order batsman I would say Binny is better, Ashwin just isn't good enough or suited for a number 5-7 slot.

look at England, india, Australia and SA, there are only 2 openers in their current teams who also open in tests

Only Warner, no? Thats just 1!

Rahane in the middle order is a misfit anyway, should be opening.

dhawan opens in tests and ODIs

He has been dropped from the Test side. Not too long before he gets the boot in ODIs too.
