Lovely catch from KW.

Wagner gets little credit, and not much patience from commentators towards his spells, but he's picking up wickets again. Good bowler.

6 of last 10 at the MCG have been won by the side bowling first. But of the sides to win batting first, 340 has been the low end of a match winning score. So Aus posting an intimidating total.

good comeback 2nd time round...this is the first time in a game i thought Mathews has done something wrong as captain, and that was the way he handled the debutant spinner Kaushal in that first innings..

Sanga now has the most international runs ever scored by a player in a year. Impressive feat.

Adding runs from different formats together never happened, ever until SRT neared 100 tons. Now it happens a lot. Apart from it being evidence that Sanga had a good year, I don't think it is a meaningful stat. Same with KP cross formats runs for England.

Batting looking a bit easier now, but too late for Sanga in this match.

With the proliferation of ODI and T20 cricket, to be a modern great I don't think it is enough any more to simply be an expert in Test cricket. Scoring runs in all three formats is far more dificult than doing so in one.

Some reverse for Boult. A little for Wagner earlier.
