Nearly, in the case of Stokes (who was more expensive and isn't competing for a similar position) but not in the case of the others, who bowled in England against Sri Lanka and India, but not in Australia, against Australia.

Even just last summer (for which he was injured), his average was eight better than Stokes (who bowled well enough to have stayed in the side, and was unlucky enough to bowl at Trent Bridge), Plunkett and Jordan, and a lot more better than Woakes. Strike rate about the same, but much more economical. Anderson was easily England's best in the last home season.

“We value the fact that English cricket tours to the Caribbean always attract thousands of West Indian and English fans resident in the UK and elsewhere,” said chief executive officer of the WICB, Michael Muirhead. “Please be assured that the WICB will never knowingly take any steps which can jeopardise this long-standing relationship between cricket fans and West Indies Cricket.” Muirhead said a number of factors, however, had influenced the pricing of tickets through the OTO programme. He said: “First, the tickets being offered to you through the OTO programme are premium seats with some of the best views of play in all three match venues. There is also the opportunity to have groups seated together depending on availability. The number of available seats is usually quite limited because of our relatively small stadium sizes. Secondly, pre-selling online is not available other than through the OTO programme. Making it possible for overseas fans to acquire tickets will help to prevent the frustration of long queues on match days at the match venues.” Muirhead added: “Thirdly, the government authorities in all three host territories have partnered with the WICB and have invested precious public funds, which help to cover the economic cost differential of the tickets which will be sold locally to citizens. This is why we can offer slightly more attractive prices for local consumption only. This policy has traditionally been responsible for creating the uniquely festive atmosphere inside the stadium grounds for which the Caribbean has become renowned.”

I wasn't aware that" Saker was the only member of the coaching staff not sacked after the Ashes tour". Steven Finn and many others will be celebrating.
Do I detect veiled criticism of Saker through omission from Bunny?

im surprised saker lasted so long

he has failed to make any progress with finn

and has also failed to help chris jordan with his massive run up issues, surely if he had proper run up and hit the crease with more momentum he would gain another yard of pace and instead of being mid to high 80s would have genuine pace

in other news 160 runs for lyth in the MCC vs Yorkshire match and 6 wickets for rashid would have done them no harm selection wise

How does that work though? He is criticised for trying to change Finn, and for not trying to change Jordan. Though, I suppose the answer is that he should have done both better.

finn's issue hitting the stumps had to be fixed and the implication is saker screwed that up

i'll repeat something I said previously, saker was always talked about more as a strategist and tactical coach for the bowlers rather than someone who would work on technical issues. well given our tactics and strategy have sucked then he has failed regardless of what he has done to help and/or change technical issues

I remember Ottis saying in 2007, when he was a durham player, that if he became Windies bowling coach, he wouldn't try to tell them how to bowl..... more what to bowl and when to bowl.

If he could just get the bowlers to think for themselves, that would be a start.

You've got support from Bunny D/F.
Quote from him in yesterday's Guardian
"Ottis would be a good candidate and will have learned a lot from before. And he knows about fast bowling. Some coaches can overcomplicate thngs but he keeps it simple and is very chilled".
Do I detect an implied criticism of Saker there?

Some of the best coaches are the ones who keep it simple.

A lot of coaches feel they have to justify their job by doing all sorts of things *cough* Moores *cough*.
