Doesn't look like India were bowled out in the twilight zone, just in the normal pattern of play.

Maybe Jaiswal will learn not to sledge the big fast bowlers next time.

I'd imagine starc got an immense amount of satisfaction getting him first ball.

Is there any reason why its always Adelaide that has the DN games?

Maybe its because no team has even got a draw in these games at Adelaide. Australia have won everyone....

And Australia looking well placed to extend that perfect record after that excellent day ! Bowling India out for 180 was pretty good - even if Reddy managed to biff a bonus 30 at the end ; but getting through the evening session just one down , with the the two dodgiest current players absorbing most of the pressure...could hardly have scripted it better.

India will need to hit back hard in the morning. Can't leave it all to Bumrah either.

If Australia can get 300 ish, then the game should be over. These DN games are usually under par for scores to average, so a significant lead will be terminal for India.

A few years ago, I read reasoning behind this. I don't remember much of what it said, except that it made sense as the time.

It may have made mention of the dew in Brisbane and Sydney making it too dangerous or unfair a balance between bat and ball. Television broadcast influence would stop it being in Perth - the last session of the day would finish after midnight on the East Coast.
Can't remember about Melbourne.

Jasprit strikes. 3 for him. Steve Smith out for 2. Aus 103/3. The two wickets in early part of first session were just what Ibdia needed as Australia were half past the target.

Should have been hit down the leg side for 4, but edges it to Rishabh behind the wicket.

Nathan scored 39 but he faced 109 balls. He saw off 3 spells of Jasprit Bumrah along with Marnus. Steve Smith could not make use of the fact that Nathan and Marnus had faced the toughest phase of this innings and made it little easier for Steve Smith. For a newbie, Nathan has done quite well in this innings. Credit to Marnus as well.

4. Full pitch by Siraj, excellently driven groundshot by Marnus through covers or 4.

Jas so far 15-5-23-3 :salute

Siraj and Harshit need to support him with a wicket each atleast. Else it is tough to restrict Australia from getting a lead. Trading by just 48 and 7 wickets intact.

50 for Marnus. He has scored as many runs with the pink ball where most others would not even score against the red ball. Proper test match batting skills on display. A 50 against Jas in this form, conditions and pink ball is surely worth 75. Well played :clap

The ball is 52 overs old. Australia need just 20 runs to breakeven. Enough overs to score and get a decent lead until the second new ball is available for Indian bowlers.

Nitish strikes. :clap Dismisses the well set Marnus for 64. Australia 168/4, trailing by just 12 though.

Ashwin reviews but third umpire says not enough evidence to say whether it was bat first or pad first. Clearly it hit pad first in one replay they showed. Anyways it was umpires decision, so would have stayed not out. But the umpires understanding of the graphics was very poor.
