Bell reckoned they were always 'thinking outside of the box'.

Thinking is all very well - actually going outside of the box is the problem and on the rare occasion they do they usually use the wrong door, or the horse has already bolted.

So looks like Ali for Tredwell with Buttler shuffled down to 8 and no place for Rashid.

Not convinced that is going to make too much difference if we get another 130 overs to bowl in the 4th innings.
Sports broadcasting media nut miscast as a hard-working family man. Or should that be the other way around?

Rashid getting a heart felt endorsement from Vaughan....

"he might bowl four spells in a day, and two and a half will be utter rubbish, but the good ones may make the difference".......

Lets make sure he gets the team director job..... pick people on a belief that they are 60% "utter rubbish" is a sound policy, Michael :facepalm

Does England have issues with leg spinners?

Do they refuse to pick them but console themselves that they are in the squad?

I wouldn't want to be England coach with Vaughan as my boss, that would be a horrible prospect.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Well, its even the media who need to chose their words carefully. If he debuts today I am sure he will brimming with confidence after a previous captain and former county colleague basically announced to everyone most things he does is rubbish.

Maybe we could lie and say "he will tear up Australia on his own".... let the boy maybe fell like he deserves to be there?

Maybe more criticism should be aimed at the current coaches who have let it be known that he was considered unselectable for the first Test. The new Finn.

If this is the case, would he not be better served playing county cricket these last few weeks?

Or maybe Vaughan was thinking how Simon Kerrigan's test debut went and said these words to take the pressure off Rashid.
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott
