Well done India. First trophy retention, first home win.

For all the batting prowess, I really think it's Bumrah that is the hero. Even on the flat decks and tiny grounds that India seems to go with these days, he seldom goes more that 6-7 an over while other bowlers on both sides are getting flayed. Makes all the difference in a big scoring game.

Only one thing I would say about India is you can get after the bowlers....the batting line up is supremely powerful and head and shoulders above anyone else but the bowling take bumrah out and you can get after then....even chakravathy got pumped a lot in this tournament ...there is hope for other sides but competing with the batting line up is a tough ask but there are flaws in the bowling attack

The semi-finalists ranked 6th/9th/11th and 15th for econ rate in the tournament. The ranked 1/2/3/5 for batting scoring rates. Something tells having an average bowling attack is meaningless if you can score an average of 11 runs an over....

Its somewhat a false friend too. In both knockout games, the RR for India's opponents was at 14-15 runs an over after the first 5 overs.... if a bowler goes for 9-10 an over in that scenario then its actually killing the game quickly.

Belatedly congrats to India ... emphatic enough win to wrap up the title. Very tough to beat , especially at home so they don't really need the little advantages given them by programming.

Pity the final was so one sided. Makes their semi win over England look as if it should have been the climax...but that is short form cricket. NZ had a bad day ; just as SA had one in their semi. All round a decent t20 event , with the "minnows" actually producing several of the unexpectedly close finishes - even if it didn't help any of them advance (not counting Afghans over Australia as always possible in Asian conditions)

Batsman dominating those knockouts. So extra honour to Bumrah :salute

Typical NZ. Punching above their weight, doing a bit better than expected, but not going all the way.
I always say that everybody's right.
