They have odd categories, speaking of an obsession with judging exactly what kind of non white person they are. Or were.

nah Prince, philander, Duminy etc were all coloured.
no idea what coloured is but if you say to a coloured man you are black african they get offended.
it isn't to do with mixed raced either, but if you have a white parent you are coloured though.

congratulations to bavuma that was a very good knock by him, he was under immense pressure because of the quota system, SA were saying he was being picked on merit and loads were speaking highly of him, can understand why looks a quality player.

I thought it was the other way round, black men/women are offended by the term coloured.

I got this from twitter.
they basically said if you called a Colour person, black they were offended, guessing the reverse implies as well where black people were offended if they were called coloured.

he said it was complicated as well and reading a bit of the wiki page can understand why.

essentially yes but they get the name because their ancestor are not from Africa.
essentially during Apartheid their were only 4 main racial groups, blacks, whites, coloured and indians.
if you were not african blacks or indian you be recognised as coloured.

But the term is to do with African tribes as well I think.

surprising aspect is that only.
Bavuma, ntini,Zondeki, Tsotsobe and Ngam
are black africans.
out of those only Ntini and Bavuma look test quality.

majority of the players coming through were coloured cricketers and their make up the same percentage as whites in the country.

probably is looking at wiki.
In Southern Africa, the term Coloureds (also known as Bruinmense or Kleurlinge) is an ethnic label for people of mixed ethnic origin who possess ancestry from Europe, Asia, and various Khoisan and Bantu ethnic groups of southern Africa. Not all Coloured people share the same ethnic background. As a result, Coloured people can possess a variety of different features.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coloured
the guy on the twitter was correct it is complicated and people in UK won't really understand since we would term a lot of it racism.

Don't think it is too complex to be honest.

From my understanding it is a mix of any ethnicities which results in someone who is not 'purely' white, black or Asian.

After a big win in Durban, England will feel pretty happy with such a comfortable draw- in a series they were supposed to lose. It won't be a 'what if' draw like Abu Dhabi, give or take the drops. They probably recognise that a draw was on the cards. The negative for England is that a couple of SA bats have some form, and Anderson wasn't at his best.
