It's as if Buttler never wants to stay in. We all remember the mankad.

Second test match in a row he is given out when he wasnt

I think he was out the last game , don't think the umpire was going to give it tho and we'll obviously never know whether Clarke would have reviewed it or not

A 150 lead is probably worth more than that on the evidence of this pitch and the bowlers getting reward out of it, including the spinner. England's bowlers will get more out of it than Australia's I feel. But this has been a pretty pathetic effort with the bat, Lyth, Bell and to an extent Root have given it away, as technically has Buttler by not reviewing.

Starting to become unconvinced by Buttler as a test match batsman.
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

You have to be impressed with Broad's batting this series after the way he's overcome his fear of the short ball and the important runs he's scored. This lunch break has come at a good time for Moeen who looks out of kilter at the crease.

I think he has the talent , the impression I get is more that he is uncertain how to approach his batting and is maybe being too cautious rather than just play his natural game

Well Dharmasena shook his head to say no (they gave the finger when Buttler walked :lmao )..... and I believe they had no reviews because Clark had reviewed an earlier catch from Buttler to the keeper, and a Ben Stokes lbw, both unsuccessfully

Some of his innings suggest that Buttler is a confident swashbuckling character, but his squeaky timid voice and these two incidents suggest he may have some insecurities lurking beneath.

Given the umpire didn't give it out and Clarke had wasted his reviews I expect Buttler didn't fancy being booed all over Australia like Broad was when in a similar scenario.

With the passage of time, the Aussie may reflect much more favourable on the Broad incident..... just because of the pure cheek of it

There maybe a case for Buttler batting higher up the order where he can play with more freedom.

Or at eight. Less pressure at eight, you would think?

I think Buttler is so concerned about being bracketed as a slogger, he is scared to play an aggressive shot and get out in test cricket.
