This game has gone highlight the real issues we have with Ali as the front line spinner in the side. While he will pick up the odd wicket he simply can't hold down an end when the game is not going England's way and keep the batsmen honest. He's going at nearly 2 runs an over more than the other bowlers and allowing Pakistan to build a huge total, it's going to be a very long tour of India if the pacers and Rashid don't take wickets.

Cook isn't at the party. Woakes who's had multiple edges through 3rd and 4th slip get only two slips. In fact when Younis is batting only one slip. That captaincy doesn't encourage the bowlers. We've seen this tactic so often before and it hardly works.

Mo getting clobbered again means our chances of winning have gone out the window

Long way still to go only one result looking likely

5 dropped catches is just ridiculous

80+ partnership.

Fifth highest score for Pakistan v England by Younis. But not highest this year... And not highest score for Pakistan at the Oval, that was mighty Miandad with 260. Highest in England, Zaheer Abbas, 274 in Birmingham. Before my time!

Well, finally all out and a mammoth 214 runs behind. It's going to take something very special from England to save this Test and the series, or a lot of rain.

Now there's a big opportunity for Hales, Vince and Balance coming up. No need to score at 4 an over.

Opportunity to bat a game out in a situation where the opposition has scored heavily. Plenty of batting. Looking for good discipline and low risk play.

England lost both the London Tests in the second series last year. Haven't won two London Tests in a series since the India tour in 2011.

Much tighter from Hales in the last few overs after some ugly pokes outside off earlier.

Cook and Hales both living charmed lives with edges not carrying.

Think hales main problem is his inability to rotate the strike

He gets stuck at an end and bowlers get time to work him over

And since they are under no pressure he doesn't get many half trackers or half volleys
