Got to wonder why England are continuing with Root and Lawrence rather than just calling it a day at this point.

And there we go.

What's the final count for Brathwaite's minutes batted?

Shook hands a minute short of Fleming, 15m short of Hanif. 955m.

Odd that Bradman isn't in this list (he's in most batting records), but it seems when he scored big, firstly he also scored them quickly, and secondly Australia tended to win by an innings so he didn't need to bat a second time...

When the ball goes soft, there is nothing for the seamers in it. While its was spinning. If anything, the two England part time options should have bowled a lot more first up....

I get there was nothing in it for the seamers, but Lawrence and Root didn't look like running through the West Indies either. There was the odd good ball but not enough sustained pressure. I just meant I think they should have shaken hands with 5-10 overs to go rather than push on with part-timers.

Gotta assume the series will be decided by whether one or other brittle batting line-up collapses. If West Indies win the toss and bat, how will England react if they have to make 450+ in the first innings for parity?

I am hearing the one in Lahore looks pretty flat ... guess we will see once Australia start batting shortly.

Lord knows what will be dished up in Grenada. Perhaps these high scoring draws are appealing to a West Indian team that has been struggling ? At least the new England bowlers are finding out how hard Test Cricket can be...

Imagine it is their turn to win the toss so we might well find out next week ! Wonder if England will think about Parkinson for something new in the attack ? Could be a tricky call re the balance for this one...

One of the West Indian journalists more-or-less admitted that five day tests = more cash spent by English tourists, so the pitches have likely been prepared accordingly.

What's the point of having an 8 that'll get you 20-30 runs if each wicket they take costs 20-30 more than your other bowlers?

Runs haven't been the issue this series. Taking 20 wickets has. Pick the bowlers who are most likely to take 20 wickets and let the batters get the runs.

I agree. All the runs from 1-7. Bowlers hardly needed to bat as there were 2 declarations

9-11 batting
5 runs from 23 balls
0 balls
4 runs from 10 balls
0 balls

I think England want to field three number sixes at 6-8 to cover for the top order.
