OK start. Cook and Finn talking as if this is on. OK, they should know plenty about cricket, but maybe their optimism is because being realistic turns listeners off. Surely they know that even on their best day, England lose by 100 runs.

Maybe if Ashwin twanged a hamstring that could change...

Agreed, if England get to within 100 it will be a solid effort.

Commentators do have to play up any tension there might be. People will turn off a foregone conclusion.

260 up and not over yet. In the context of chasing in India not a bad effort. Obviously the first innings collapse lost this one, but far from the disaster we have had in previous tours.
