it is tough coming in and facing high quality spin bowling, especially when the ball is turning and bouncing

buttler is only playing because ballance should never have been in the squad imo, better players than him would probably find it hard to get started here

These two need to get their Euromillions tickets, because I have no clue how both are still there.

Buttler edges just past 2nd slip, then the ball scrapes the stumps on the way through to the keeper.....

If they both make the close, this is a miracle.

lets hope they do as i am not confident ali and rashid will get as much out of this pitch as the indian spinners have so could really do with getting up to at least 350

All three wickets that have fallen since tea have been to attacking strokes, this on a pitch that is not greatly helpful to spin. Clever bowling and injudicious batting has turned England's great start on it's head.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

how was jennings an attacking shot ?

it was an edge off a defensive prod that went to gully ?

This is a fascinating passage of play - huge contrast with the earlier run feast.

Two batsmen playing against type : and really struggling against some quality spin bowling on a pitch that is now giving the bowlers plenty of help.

First few overs I wouldn't have given Buttler a snowball's chance in hell of making it to the close ; but they're into the last two overs now...fingers crossed.

Got to give Ben his due, his approach to playing spin is very mature. Save for his brain fart to Shakib in BD, his approach of waiting for the shorter balls pays dividends.....

India flying through the overs, getting another one in before close.

Watching Buttler it's difficult to understand why he's so far failed to make a top middle order batsman. He has pretty good footwork he strokes the ball in the manner of a class batsman and even his six hits rely on footwork and timing not raw muscle power. He has showed a tendency to be a little dozy at times.

been a cracking days play imo

pitch has had good bounce all day and has turned sharp at times

seen some good batting and some oridnary batting but i would have taken this position before play started

fantastic innings from jennings on debut, really looked the part

Might have something to do with the fact he was nearly out three times in his first 10 balls..... yes, he uses his feet seemingly well, but when playing from the crease his defensive technique looks utterly terrible
