Just reading about Jadeja running on the pitch, the 5 run penalty to NZ and Jadeja being fined 50% of his match fee.

Received 2 informal warnings, 1 formal warning and then on the 4th go the penalty was given. Considering he only faced 27 balls, and was not out there very long, thats an extremely poor show.

Im not sure why more has not been made of this. Blatant cheating. If a bowler is warned twice they get removed from the attack. Ball tampering gets a lot more press coverage. But to continuously ignore the umpire in such a short time frame, and only get a 5 run penalty and not mush else seems like the penalty does not fit the crime.

Hopefully we will bowl them all out in first innings today itself. Doubt Virat would enforce follow on as 84 overs have already been bowled and it is better to give bowlers a rest considering that we have a 4 bowlers attack. Plus the heat which take toll on energy levels. There has to be exceptional performance by Kiwis in second innings to save this test.

Not sure that is fair either. When 5-500 and chasing quick runs with a deceleration coming, i'm not sure the batsman being given out is going to make much of a difference. Just like the 5 run penalty, it wont have an impact on the game. If it was ball tampering then a replacement ball would be got, and the player would most likely be banned. In these situations the players know what they are doing, and are blatantly cheating, just the same as those that tamper with the ball

Perhaps in this situations the player should have to face a ban?
