Santenr dispatches last ball fo the day for 6. Gets his 50 with that. Well played, wihtou his innings NZ would have ended with a bad score.

Eight overs short in the day.

England fighting back, but not a bad score by NZ given they were put in.

Up and down day. No demons in the pitch ; and after an opening stand of 105 you'd think NZ were on for something like 360-400 ; so England came back well. Late aggressive hitting from Santner and Southee prevented the innings from fizzling out completely so you might say it finished roughly even ? We will see when England bat , I guess.

you got the 300 bit right. Good fightback from the bowlers, but there were a lot of poor dismissals judging by the highlights. Only a bit of late order slogging stopped that from being England's day, I think. After Blundell fell, NZ could easily have been out for 260 or 270.

Yes I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up

Haven't seen the highlights yet but sounds very similar to the first test. A few generous dismissals turning what looked like 400+ into a middling score.

This pitch looked flatter than the one in the first game too.

The main question for tonight is can Crawley score a run off Matt henry.

Not entirely sure why santner is blocking.

Strange stuff from New Zealand

Surely has to play a few shots.

Ha!

I was watching Masque of the Red Death again and forgot this was going on. Doesn't look like either side has grabbed any initiative. Stangely uneventful. The England openers can go and put their feet up for a while.

Well done to Pottso for the 4-fer. Though some minor damage done for the last two wickets.

Actually 135 for the last four wickets is a decent effort by the NZ tail.

Well drat. England yet again go off the boil. Still, at least the series is won. But they need to learn to be a bit more ruthless.
