Pretty bad fielding from England. They had NZ in trouble, but a few loose overs, and it's NZ's to lose now.

Forgot about this. Great score for England. Must have a sniff of defending that.

Stokes not needed here. Could bowl out with the main pacer bowlers.

Maybe fancy him to fluke a wicket.

Big over from Wood and Woakes backing him up. England well placed. 16/over needed.

So strangely enough, England, NZ and Australia on the same points with a game each left.

NZvIre
AusvAfg
Engv SL, but played a day after the other games.

May be looking at NRR to separate them. SL could qualify if they beat England and NZ or Aus lose. Which feels a lot to ask.

Tomorrow would be a bad day to slip up for India, against BD, currently both on the same points.

Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan...not bad for a team that had to find its way through the qualifiers.

a good time for England to finally turn up

batting card looked a bit iffy after the openers departed. The plan seems to be Malan at 3 if a wicket goes early, but if it doesn't, no-one seems able to accelerate the score into unchaseable territory (although goodness knows why, with the riches at their disposal). I'm sensing that the game was in the balance for a while during the NZ reply.

Australia are no given to beat Afghanistan, even if they do go in as hot favourites.

Credit where due, England did finally play a good game, although it was a bit hairy for a while when Philips was teeing off.

3 teams could end on 7 points, so NRR will factor in. Of course, that assumes England beat Sri Lanka, which is far from a given. NZ will be assured of qualification if they win, while England and Australia will be sitting out with calculators.

Mathematically Ireland can still qualify, but they'd have to beat New Zealand by some ridiculous margin like 150 runs.

He looked a wild card with the prospect of paying out big. Not obvious there's anyone else in the squad who offers as much promise.

Netherlands are causing problems for Zimbabwe's batters. They will have a very gettable total to chase. Could end Zimbabwe's tournament today.
