South Africa Vs Australia odis & Tests

[GarlicJam]

I'm guessing that went into the wrong thread, Andy.

[andy]

Apologies yes it did! Bavuma still going for SA now he finally has a partner....how does he orchestrate it from here? They have to win does he need to put foot down now to as they need to find a way to force a victory with very little time left in the game

[GarlicJam]

it seems to be their only real hope. Another 100 runs from SA - at the 4 rpo or so they are going at - will set the scene nicely.

[andy]

Bavuma onto 75 perfect morning so far for SA

[Arthur Crabtree]

Startlingly like the Australia innings in the first Test.

Except the game is more advanced.

Hundred partnership in 20-ish overs.

[mikesiva]

Bavuma and Jansen!

[Durhamfootman]

Great recovery from SA. Giving it back to Australia

[Arthur Crabtree]

Must be driving the Aussies crazy.

[mikesiva]

South Africa 425-9 declared

Bavuma 179
Jansen 85
Harmer 82

Boland 5-81
Starc 3-89

What a recovery from 110-6!

[andy]

Declaration came too late and then wasted 3 overs with the new ball by bowling spin good fightback though from SA....horrendous shot from Maddinson though!

[Durhamfootman]

I assumed it was a light thing

agree about the timing of the declaration, but I imagine that was about personal milestones in a match with only 2 days left to play 3 innings

[andy]

I understand personal milestones but SA needs to win the match to have any chance of winning the series

[Arthur Crabtree]

Only change is the follow on. So the extra runs will keep the game alive longer..

[Arthur Crabtree]

Only chance (for a SA win), that was meant to say.

SA seize the initiative with three early wickets

Great fightback.

They would fancy their chances of being able to enforce the follow-on.
