Umpires make another error. Root reviews, of course it was not out. Why would they get ANYTHING really right. This becoming embarrassing

It's like siddle yesterday when he virtually middled it....how can the umpire not see that edge

Bob Willis will be coming off his long run again with these umpires. Thought he was relatively restrained last night " absolutely abysmal" He seemed to be saying that they were just incompetent as opposed to the "cheats" umpiring when he was playing!

Key moment in the game. Aussies need a wicket soon or this will start getting away from them

From Geoff Lemon on Guardian obo.

Ohhhh, Good Lord! How is Rory Burns not out by now? He’s been out about 16 times. He’s played every bad shot in the book. But someone somewhere has left a cigarette for an obscure god at the right roadside shrine. Burns throws the bat at a wider ball from Siddle, gets a thick outside edge, and it flies between slip and gully for four.

Indeed. But England just starting to bar with a bit more intent, and since lunch they look comfortable. Balls is doing less....not sure why Paine doesn't put Lyon on holding an end, he's looked mostly likely to do something with it turning nicely.

He did bowl 70 overs in the world cup, that is a lot for him between injuries.

Just edges again. Since making his 50 he's suddenly edged a few, but the first fifty was well batted. Not sure why no third slipper is in though. That flew as a catch to him if Paine had kept him there, like he should

I love Peter siddles attitude to the game. The never say die approach as he steams in on dead pitches and bowls you 25 overs in a row. Very honourable type of performer.

But he got dropped because he lacks bite, and so far he looks like nothing has changed. I'd certainly never have dropped starc for him

Im more wondering about Pattinsons inclusion over Starc.

There is talk that the Australian camp were worried Starc would not last the series with injuries. No idea how true this is.
