Groin strains are usually terminal.

Not obvious how much of the pace attack survives this. Surely they won't go back to Wood. Archer is worth staying with, but there isn't much chance of him being fit very often. We may have seen the last of Potts and they didn't like Cook.

Stokes will play when fit. Tongue and Atkinson will carry on. Carse might survive due to his constant availability. But they need a few more for the squad. The issue of Robinson may re-emerge.

Don't think it was an issue. They intended to bowl pace constantly.

The intention was to play 4 seamers and stokes id imagine

Not 3 seamers and stokes

Meanwhile tongue got smith with a ripper so obviously we go straight to short balls, from ball 1, against starc. Instead of trying to get him out normally.

As if to prove my point tongue pitches one up and gets him out with another ripper

There is still seam movement. You just have to hit the right line and length consistently. Not bowl a load of dross.

Feels a definitive failure, but so have many before. If the same people are running things in the summer, I expect he'll be there.

Perhaps we need to arrange some sort of strike for england cricket fans

Refuse to attend games if he is in the team
