Zampa is a certain starter in the ODI 11 imo.

Maxwell is not been given any bowling recently. Expecting Maxwell to now bowl 10 overs will be a huge risk. He is bowling very less in IPL as well. Aussies will need a specialist spinner otherwise they will struggle in middle overs.

I wonder if Aus will just go for the part time spin of Head in June in England? Against Pakistan he completed 10 overs in 3 of the matches. In that series he bowled more overs than Zampa.

A little harsh on Zampa, but i can see him making way for an extra batsman. Obviously opposition and pitch conditions will play a part on selection.

Pitches here have been very flat recently for ODIs, and it might be that a lot of pace on the ball just helps the batters.

Yes,Travis got preference as part time spinner over Maxwell. But isn't it a huge risk to expect 10 overs from non-specialist bowlers in every match.

There have been few injured player as well. So few extra days taken to select team is better idea.

Disputes between Shashank Manohar and BCCI continue. BCCI have not adhered to todays deadline of team declaration. However, team can be announced post deadline in certain circumstances.

Agree Adi. Zampa has been a pretty decent performer, whereas Maxwell hardly bowls. He plays now as a specialist batsman who might chip in a couple of overs. No chance at all of Australia playing him expecting 10 overs.

Same. Maybe if Aus are guaranteed a spot in the next stage - but even then, you'd think that resting delicate fast bowlers may be a priority.

We are bound to see at least one of these four go down with injury during the comp, anyway.

Is it possible to be guaranteed a place in the next stage after just 2 games?

Can't see Pattinson playing anyway. Hastings and Zampa are miles ahead.
