Bhuvi doing the damage, but at least NZ overtake the follow on. Even a hundred runs more from here would keep the game alive going into the third innings.

Nothing (so far) for R. Ashwin. Must be a while since he went wicketless.

Looks an uneven pitch, with patches of grass. Its lack of uniformity should help everyone, at least a little, but it doesn't look worn yet. I saw a picture of the pitch on cricinfo, I've not been watching, so I might have got a wrong impression.

yes - certainly not really very much in it for the spinners yet. I don't think Ind will have been very happy with this pitch - we should really aim to have pitches that assist spin throughout but ideally don't deteriorate massively.

Good to see Bhuvi doing well, really think he's a very important player for Ind, critical to have someone like him for overseas tests especially. He's a useful lower order batsman as well.

Yep those are the pitches they want hard to prepare those though since the margin of error is so tiny, thought the first test was perfect enough spin on day 2 and didn't crumble too badly either.
Was quite scared when the curator said limited turn on day 1 and 2 since In the old days that meant 500-600 in first inning and team batting first wins or get massive advantage.

For this test got a lot of grass for an Indian wicket and they only really keep grass to make the wicket flat and to stop the pitch from detoriating, although looking at the grass cover quite possible uneven bounce and turn take place in the last 2 days.
Really surprised Kolkata given this pitch since it more similar to a club cricket pitch in England or
Nz.
Although can't complain too much since it had enough help for the bowlers on day 1 and 2

shocking from the kiwi batsmen, only ronchi and santner ever look convincing to be honest...well bowled Bhuvi, but once again NZ batsmen let the side down..

Should New Zealand feel aggrieved. Seems to be on the wrong end of umpiring decisions and playing in very poor light conditions...or is that the way of the touring team?

Looks like the test players are getting wage rise, fees are getting doubled now.

not sure really. Ronchi was plumb to Jaedeja and not given before he was actually given out to one that was more of an umpires call
