I always thought of Trott in the England ODI batting order as being like dad, driving a car full of complaining kids on sugar highs to the coast, gripping ever tighter on the wheel, way past the point of telling them to sit down and behave.

Different game now.
I always say that everybody's right.

Root run out. How did that happen?

England were cruising.

Seemed like every game he was fighting a lone hand

He'd make 80 off 100 when the rest of the top order gave it away then everyone blamed trott for not batting quicker after our bowlers got massacred

Given the reality of the England top six, he did what he had to do, with little fuss.

Had a feeling they wouldn't get back on.
