There really is not much to like about Juventus. Convicted cheats in the past, and now trying to force this through. The PL has the money that Juve really wants. With them still trying to push this through i hope UEFA ban these clubs for next year and the following years they keep pushing it.

A champions league with out Spains big three and Juventus will be diminished but not as much as it would have been with out the PL clubs. With other Italian and Spanish clubs being able to take those bigger clubs places perhaps we shall start to see a leveling up of teams in their national comps. UEFA picking the first teams that qualify for champions league, but you can only qualify if you are UEFA members.

Perhaps people will have an interest in Barca vs Juventus 6 times a year, but its unlikely.

As for Inter Milan and AC milan being included, their recent history has been ordinary until this year. With Inter fairing better than AC over the last 5 years. Harsh on other italian clubs who have been more successful of late.

what SP said

pretty much sums it up about as concisely as I've ever heard it summed up

The equivalent of a football club vampire

Although SP didn't mention the drinking culture surrounding Ashley. 'Business' partners are required to participate in a drinking game to 'seal the deal' culminating in a 'who can vomit the furthest' competition.... something that he often wins, because he's very good at necking vast quantities of beer and spewing it further than everyone else, seemingly

who could ever argue that he isn't a fit and proper person to run a football club

How could I have forgotten the legendary "power drinking"! :facepalm :lmao

What kind of madman turns up to a high court contest to settle a case worth 10s of millions of pounds, and then takes the stand in their defence and says "The claimaint is total lightweight, while I am a power drinker... therefore I would have remembered our conversation much more".

It would be funny if he hadnt ripped the heart out of one of the greatest football clubs in the world.

There really is a plausible case that says that the only way Newcastle are likely to get rid of him is if they do a Sunderland and drop 2 divisions in a couple of years. As long as they continually finish in 17th place so that he can pick up the PL money, the fat boy considers that 'job done'

This has just appeared

Ashley gets slapped down by the authorities again, after he takes his usual wrecking ball approach to try and get what he wants, whilst sticking two fingers up at everyone else

Since RM are still in the ESL i presume they can not compete in the semi finals of the CL next week?

Also interesting that Perez is saying that the contract signed by all 12 teams is legally binding and that they can not just leave. Every interview this man gives he is giving more ammunition to those against him. Along with Juventus these 2 teams are digging a huge hole for themselves.

And lets not forget Barca who are also still involved. Over 1 billion in debt, this is maybe a sign of desperation from them. poorly run clubs either cut their cloth or go bust. Like all other clubs.

Geez, no wonder they hate him.

Why buy a football club if you don't care about the football or the fans? :hmmm

Having decided to move the Ch L final away from Turkey, why would anyone decide that the best thing to do would be to make both England clubs travel to Portugal?

Am I missing something, here?

I get that they might want to keep the final in it's original venue for contractual or sponsorship reasons or even sheer bloodymindedness... I don't have a problem with that, but having decided to move it, why wouldn't you play an all England final at Wembley?

there has to be more to this, and I just don't have the wit to see

there was more to it

'no agreement could be reached on quarantine exemptions for sponsors, VIPs and broadcasters', Wembley had to go

when Portugal put us on their red list in a few days time, the sponsors, VIP's and broadcasters can enjoy themselves in an empty stadium.... more prosecco, caviar and hummus to go round, without having to worry about the riff raff

They'd better hope that the players can turn up, or there'll be no entertainment for the 15 minutes that they don't spend quaffing bolly and chowing down on posh nosh at the banqueting table

Says all you need to know about UEFA and the way they think really, doesn't it?

Players, support staff and fans play second fiddle to the sponsors. Thousands of them have to risk international travel in the middle of a pandemic so a few bigwigs can get their night out.

It would have been perfectly possible to play at Wembley. Even international broadcasters surely don't need to be present (can't they just use the feed that comes from the UK broadcasters?) but UEFA would have had to refund/compensate them and the sponsors. Player and fan safety vs money? Guess what won?

Pathetic.
