Hoddle suggests the keeper didn't get anywhere near it. Just a hand Glenn.

Fair enough. I won't argue with Hoddle.

I would over his view of the keeper getting nowhere near the penalty.

Yeah, he got that one wrong.
2-0. Easy win in the end.

San Marino scored their first away goal in 14 years!! Nearly held on to a draw but Lithuania scored a winner in the 92nd minute.

Superb effort from the part-timers, no doubt the players will have gone through the wringer physically and mentally.

Belter of a goal too.... but some people don't even want them to be there, for their own good
Not that I will moan they lost..... the 14 way accie spread from Friday to Tuesday needed them to lose, and lose they did

A good old fashioned wallop. Not seen that much celebration since Stuart Pearce invited them to have a shot, all those years ago.

Having a pre-qualifying round for the European Championships is pointless when the number of teams qualifying for the group stage has increased to 24. The 3rd place playoff has given lower ranked sides an incentive to qualify and minnows something to aspire.
I'd rather have San Marino trying to qualifying for a major competition by using selecting players largely through their own domestic system and players who are born in the country, than Wales or Republic of Ireland piggybacking off English football and being allowed to select players through heritage.

Theo to start up front then?
Scotland vs Poland is a crunch game tonight. Scotland loose and that's their chances gone i reckon. Will possibly be the only home nation not to qualify for the euros

What a strike by Matt Ritchie.
