Didn't he literally refuse to play recently, and left the bench to go home/

Piers Morgan interview, of course

so that means it'll be a heavily publicised, completely sensationalised, entirely one sided and unchallenged load of sh1te from someone who will want to be seen to be the winkers latest new best mate

Morgan and Ronaldo are friends weirdly, aren't they? Ronaldo also celebrated some neo-fascist recently, can't remember which of bolsonaro, trump et al it was, but said something incredibly stupid about one of them.

I guess Morgan takes it to the gossip section, but in the football section I don't think anyone gives a damn.

Ronaldo is an old player. The skills, power and pace aren't there anymore. I say that, he'd probably bag 15-20 goals for Southampton still, but top level, it's over.

I don't understand why they don't/didn't mutually terminate the deal. It was clear at the start of the year both parties wanted out. United are paying him 500k a week too

There was talk that he could not get a club in Europe that he felt fitted his abilities. so even though if the contract was terminated he would not go to a bigger club or one in the CL.

So i think the theory was he would stay with United and keep his 500,000 a week when he had no other realistic offers. He probably assumed he will still be playing every game :point

I remember Mendes saying Ronaldo was willing to accept a 20percent pay cut to play elsewhere. Who in Europe would offer him 400,000?

United are 6 points better off already then last year at the same time. Ronaldo has done nothing and in fairness they are playing better with him out of the team.

With more to come out today and tomorrow this soap opera will continue for a while. Gary Neville is meant to get it today :clap

at a slightly more mundane level, Middlesbrough have gone on a roll since Carrick became their manager. 13 points from the last 5 matches and charging up the table

Newcastle through in the league cup. Narrow score line, but they dominated throughout, spurned several good chances, had a perfectly good goal incorrectly ruled out with no var, had a stonewall penalty inexplicably ruled out with no var

QF draw tomorrow

Winter break.... what winter break?

Newcastle Utd straight back into it with a 3-0 drubbing of Leicester at the King Power Stadium. Almiron on the score sheet yet again. It's like they'd never been away. Up to second in the table............ albeit almost certainly briefly

I've just seen Newcastle's second goal and I think it's as good as anything I've seen this season
