for a while it looked like they might

3-1 up and having to concede 3 goals in the last half hour to lose seemed like a bit of a stretch to me, but when City equalised with 2 quick goals and 25 mins still to go, I feared for my boys. I imagine Newcastle did well to hang on in the end.

I'll wait for the highlights, but isn't it interesting that with a marginal decision needed for a tackle against the big team player, the ref immediately pulled out a red card for Trippier. For once VAR did what it's supposed to do and got the ref to look again. It would have ruined what sounded like one hell of a game. Fergie must be glad that VAR wasn't around when he was a manager. He might have won half the titles he did, if it had been

oh, and the linesman tried to rule out Newcastle's first goal, despite him being played onside by two City players. VAR overturned that decision too

the good news, MIke, is that Chelsea were the better team according to 'handbags' Tuchel..... so that's alright then

I'd get rid of it when it works against my teams, but keep it on the rare occasion it works the other way

At what stage do Liverpool start to panic? Without Mane they look a different team (although have some injuries).... and Jordan Henderson and Milner looked pretty past it yesterday.

ah bol......

It's very frustrating. For a long time it looked as though Newcastle's undeaten run was set to continue, only for it to be snatched away by a goal scored in the 9th minute of the 5 minutes added on. Fergie time all over again

Newcastle had a second goal ruled out too, for an offside kneecap.... fine margins
