Winning games and playing good Football. You better hope he doesn't take Southgate's job! Actually he'd be mad to when you see the possibilities at Newcastle.

in fairness, 3 of the goals yesterday were gifts handed to them on a plate, but these used to be matches where Newcastle ended up drawing more often than not, so progress is definitely being made. Having said they were gifts, I think it's also true to say that Newcastle forced the mistakes by pressing the defenders and the goalie all the time..... something they never used to do in the old days under Bruce

ASM back on the pitch, Joelington back on the pitch, Bruno and Wilson starting matches again. Newcastle ought to be able to put out a very strong team when they go to Old Trafford next weekend

Forest off the bottom at last, but they look very much out of their depth in the P/L. Shame, but so often the way with Championship promotions.

Forest sadly got rid of the wrong players over the summer and then bought in way to many players.

We really are missing Brice Samba our keeper from last year. Very good at playing the ball out. Henderson was bought in who i thought was a great addition but he does not fit in with how Forest play. To many balls are aimless kicks up front or even going out. Great shot stopper but does not fit into the cooper play book. He basically cant pass the ball well enough to play how Forest want to play.

The owner and his son had a huge spending spree buying names and anyone they were told who was good. A lot of the players that came in are fine players, just not the type of players Copper needs for his system.

Last season was an anomaly for Forest. The owner realising previous mistakes put in place a DoF in Dan Murphy who then bought in cooper. Murphy had a plan and for the first time in 20 years they were left to get on with it.

Once in the premiership though the owners seemed to think they knew more and have just kept spending on player. 22 in total with 19 of them in Nottingham. Basically 2 new teams. A couple of players are cooper acquisitions but the rest have been a splurge sold to the owners by agents with vested interests. By all accounts Murphy and Cooper were sidelined in the summer and now they are the ones left to try an pick up the pieces.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Forest should have kept Samba, Signed Davies, Garner and Zinkernel, offer Grabben a new contract and then added about 5 players from there. It still would have been a struggle this season but it would have been better than the owners son playing championship manager with the club.

The owner again seems to understand something went wrong and has taken a step back. But it seems the damage has been done. His son seems to be running the club and he really seems to have no idea. But forest are in the Premier league so got to enjoy right.....

didn't they sign something daft like 20 players?

they called in the manager to sack him and then offered him a contract extension instead. Seems an odd way to run a football club

Offering Cooper a new contract is hopefully recognition that the owner has got things wrong. Most fans worship Cooper after last year and are aware he has been stitched up over the summer.

Forest were settled last year and the fans and players enjoyed the stability. Hopefully we are going back to that and supporting Cooper is part of that.

But this is Forest, we have had one stable year in 20. So i dont hold out much hope :angry

A point against Man Utd at OT is always a welcome point, but it says something about the progress being made at Newcastle that I confess to being just a little bit disappointed that it wasn't 3 points.

I haven't seen any highlights of any of the other matches, but despite the raft of contentious decisions across the weekend's matches, the view of the MOTD panel was that the no penalty decision for the challenge on Callum Wilson was the worst decision of the weekend........ of course!

big game tonight for Newcastle at SJP. 3 points against Everton is essential, because I don't see any points away to Spurs at the weekend

I guess in 2023, we should be suprised that Klopp has been accused of being racist, for suggesting Man City and PSG have buying power through their ownership...

I mean, they are the two most expensive assembled squads in history.... so....
