You know you've had a bad night too when you turn up to the press conference at the end, and put in a performance that made Diego Simeone look like the picture of reason and humility in comparison. Klopps "they should play proper football" rant was pretty insulting and disrespectful, especially considering he'd been tactically soundly beaten over two ties. I am not great fan of Madrid's style of play, but i was effective and won the tie, thats all that matters. Klopp should have really took the opportunity to shut his mouth.

I am not at all a fan of Simeone too, but his interview at the end won a lot of respect for me. He highlighted how the away goal rule applying after extra time was wrong and unfair, and pledged to campaign against its future use with UEFA, as he believed it ruined the match and changed the way Liverpool had to play, allowing his team to win.

Considering Simeone's words were so supportive of Liverpool, it made Klopp's attack dog act look even more moronic than it was.

I doubt very much that this tournament will be finished this year though. Danielle Rugani has tested positive for Juventus, and their whole team is now in quarantine I believe, with Ronaldo stuck in Madeira for at least 14 days. Their tie with Lyon will almost certainly be off next week, throwing the whole competition into disarray.

Roma and Inter Milan have stated UEFAs original answer to the Italian teams problems was to ask them to withdraw, which they quite rightfully declined to do. But as La Liga is now called off, and other leagues close to suspension, can the CLs be fit into the calendar before the Euros, and with a backlog of fixtures on the domestic scene about to start propping up all over Europe?

This also begs the question, with the big money TV matches yet to play, how much revenue will be lost? The final/semi-s must generate 100s millions for UEFA, and they cant pay the clubs if they dont make the dough..... and the clubs cant pay wages, if they dont get the hand out?

This could lead to serious problems for the top European sides.

Will be interesting to see what happens to all the leagues. I guess lower leagues can go into the summer, but as you say the CL will struggle to find the time.

The owner of Forest and Olympiacus has the virus and has mingled with players from Arsenal and his team in Greece. Im guessing the season is coming to an end?

yes, apparently a lot of Arsenal players are in quarantine, and now Leicester too according to Brendan, who just came out to say 3 players are being tested for the virus having come down ill.

There was grumblings for a while that City were essentially going to tie UEFA into so much legal action, they could actually bankrupt the organisation with their financial clout. Maybe UEFA decided 15 years of appeals against the worlds top lawyers wasnt worth the struggle.

Totaly outclassed the second half. And the kept Modric and Hazard so quiet, it was only after 25 minutes I realised Luka was actually playing.

If theyd had a better final ball and took a few of those chances they should of, it could have got ugly

It seems to be falling into place again for the second placed team in the premier league to once again win the champions league.

Chelsea seem to have sold Hazard at the right time

Yeah. Hazard turned up at real having put on 10kgs. He's always been a player who's drifted in and out of top form, get the feeling he's quite lazy and needs a kick up the backside. But when he's on song, he's ridiculous.

See this a lot nowadays, players around 30 getting long life changing deals, and stop working. He will be on ridiculous money till he's 35, so why bother trying too hard?
