Seems to be a good England team developing at the moment.

A lot of young players coming through. A lot of depth. Positive times for England supporters.

Southgate has done a blinding job so far. With Kane, Sterling, Rashford, and Alli , plus some attacking youth players that look potentially awesome, the future looks good. Our weakness is not conceding. I always think the better sides will score a couple against us when it really matters, hindering our chances of a tourny win.

I think the side atm is better than at the WC. The change in formation has helped

I occurs to me that, whilst the CR are a pretty poor side, not that long ago we'd have won that match 2-0 after a very late goal, having spent most of the match at 0-0 or 1-0, with everyone chewing their fingernails off.

Comfortable win tonight for England. They were a bit sloppy at times, but a 5-1 win is a 5-1 win and I'll take that every day

Barkley may well have played his best game for England to date, tonight

I have absolutely no idea why Kane wasn't offside for his goal, btw, and yet no-one is questioning it, so it must be a gap in my knowledge. He was miles offside when the ball was played through to Sterling, and surely can't have been inactive because he went on and put the ball in the back of the net. He was behind Sterling when the ball was passed to him, so perhaps that's the reason?

I wondered that too, but no-one seemed to even turn a hair. I think it's the latter - he wasn't technically 'active' while Sterling had the ball, and was behind the ball (and Sterling) when it was passed to him - you can't be offside if you're behind the ball. So I guess that's it.

Highlight of the match was Danny Rose flying into Montenegro's Number 3, moments after an altercation with Jordan Henderson.

Can't beat good old fashioned, Lance Corporal Jones style pressing and tackling even in the modern game.

It must be time for UEFA to take a strong stance against this. Fines won't work, playing behind closed doors does not seem to work, so maybe its now time to consider exclusion from games, or tournaments.
