fair enough.... I must have misunderstood something
I see that back in the days when Norway won their 2 titles, only 4 teams took part. Hard to imagine how few women's teams there were as little as 30 years ago

It's very satisfying to hear that Bild have been claiming 'we wuz robbed', for a change. I haven't got enough fingers to count how many times I've felt like that over the years

It took me a while to realise because she plays under her maiden name for NI, but is known by her married name at Durham
when I heard she'd been awarded her first ever full time playing contract, I wondered if Durham were going to go fully professional ahead of the new season. I've had it confirmed that they have indeed, and they've made some new signings, so perhaps they're intent on making a serious push for promotion to the WSL. They have been in the promotion mix for the last couple of years, but fallen away at the end.
it'll be interesting to see what effect the new ownership has on Newcastle Ladies, because Staveley seems keen to try and do something with them. Might be a back burner thing. I can't see them buying a whole team.

Ellen White retires from football
I expected her to announce her international retirement... it's an excellent time to go on your own terms.... but she's going the full hog, which did surprise me a little
good luck to her, she's been a great servant to the game. Maybe she'll do Strictly next year and get guaranteed work on the BBC for life

Was hoping she may do one last world cup but going out on top and not pushed before jumping. Reckon she may be a good pundit!

closely followed by Jill Scott
one of the many Sunderland developed England players.... before the WSL cut off that production line

Some of the Aylesbury Utd ladies coaches etc are talking about a statue of Ellen White. We have one of David Bowie (I know) and Ronnie Barker, again, so why not White.

no sign of the match or any highlights on FTA, so after the huge surge of interest in Women's football over the summer, presumably it's 'go straight behind a paywall, do not pass go, do not collect £200'

I'm looking forward to watching tonight's game, although it ought to be a bit of a procession
I wonder if the friendly with USA next month (I think) will be on FTA? That match should tell us a lot about how things lie

Will be going to see the USA game. Should be a good game, competitive at least!
I see Barcelona are willing to pay a world record fee for Keira Walsh. The Spanish league isn't great but you can see the lure for Walsh.
