One interesting thing about my rant above.... apparently Arsenal have been seeking clarification about the status of Mykhatyn ( I cant spell that). ?Being Armenian, and with a huge hatred between them and Azerbaijan, he didnt travel for Arsenals group game vs Qarabag on fear of being targeted by home crowds, now the club are asking for gurantees he will have no problems entering Baku. I think generally Armenians arent allowed to go there..... seems UEFA have confirmed its ok, but Arsenal want Azerbaijan authorities to expressly confirm.

Very weird atmosphere at the final. More like a friendly. Kick off soon and looks like ashed load of empty seats. Also there is insanely loud music from what I can hear on the BT coverage.

The lack of 'real' fans of the two clubs will make for a weird atmosphere. I'm only watching it because my son supports Chelsea. To hear Arsenal fans say they'd rather lose and Spurs lose, rather than both win, says a lot for this competition.

That was a penalty, and a clear and obvious mistake.

For me it wasn't. Contact yes, but it's negligible.

Arsenal been the better team, but their final ball has been terrible. Chelsea have done a lot of defending, but have produced the only real.moment of quality

Whose bright idea was it to host the final in Baku of all places? Who did that benefit? Azerbaijan sure as heck made no money from the minimal number of travelling fans.

Having said that, I can't begin to fathom how countries like Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Israel are considered to be part of 'Europe' and in UEFA anyway. Nothing against them, but it makes no sense geographically. But then, Australia is part of Asia according to FIFA, so what do I know?
