City lost twice to Ajax by memory last year or the year before, an Ajax team that isn't too dissimilar to the one that struggle to a point against Nicosia last night, so I don't think they can blame tough groups. If you cant qualify because you drop points to Ajax or Roma, then you just aren't playing good enough.

Last night City were very poor I thought, lumbered with it in possession, looked shaky at the back on the counter even though Roma had little pace to work with, and they have to keep the ball more and be more patient with it.

Even then though, a point needed away to Roma and to win two games against CSKA Moscow, a team who have lost a lot of players since they were actually a tough team to play a few years back..... they should do it with no excuses, if they don't, they can blame the quality of the group.

The only team that they should be happy to drop more than one draw to is Bayern.

I do think that English defences struggle to deal with that Totti type player who drifts around the pocket. You seen Totti last night, and Pirlo when he plays against England, no one ever really drifts into those zones.... maybe because English teams rarely play that type of advanced playmaker.

Nice to see Totti play well against an English side. The bloke is a genius, possibly the most underrated player in my lifetime. He is up there with Zidane and Xavi with his career, but the English media have always unjustly slaughtered him.

tough game for Liverpool too , basel are easy to under-estimate but have had some good results over the last few years

arsenal cruising , galatasary have been very poor

the galatasaray fans were throwing flares on to the pitch and the game had to be stopped briefly , Schneider went over to try and calm them down
