We are closing in on the capture of Porto centre back Eliaquim Mangala. Reported fee is £32m! :o

Just as I said above.

Suarez, RVP, Bony.

Van Wolfswinkel, Alves.

Thankfully in this day and age, a transfer fee of £8m isn't too hefty (particularly given what we have already received for Lambert, Lallana and Shaw). And more importantly, Koeman knows him having been his manager for that time at Feyenoord.

Skim read your comment and missed that....

But yeah, as we've seen previously with players who come from Holland, he will need time to adapt. Bony looked like a useless fat lump with no ball control whatsoever until January, then he turned into a beast. If Pelle hasn't pulled up any trees by October don't get on his back - though I assume the only people who would do that would be a loud minority of plastics.

I haven't seen anything of Pelle, but from what I've heard he is very much a target man, which I really hope its not the case, Lambert was rarely used to lump the ball too.

I guess that it doesn't count as tapping up as LVG wasn't in position?

Happens all the time. Players like De Gea have openly admitted trying to convince Spanish players to join Man Utd.

German players at Arsenal also do the same.

He probably said in the Dutch dressing room - "Hands up who would like to play for Man Utd?" a few hands go up but not Robben's - "Don't you want to go Arjen?"

"Nah I'm happy where I am". Totally innocent banter.
