Just confirmed - Costing Liverpool £16m.

For £16m it isn't a bad buy, despite me not rating that highly, as in world class.

16 million for a striker of his class is a bargain, just think about Shane Long and how much even average strikers cost now! Jordan Rhodes is touted to go for 12 million for instance!!!

Mind you, he will probably want 300k a week

Yep, when you compare him to Long, Carroll etc, a definite bargain. Liverpool though have lost a great player, and got a good one. Still, not many great players around.

will be interesting to see what formation liverpool play now, will they move sturridge to the wing or go with two strikers like they did at the end of last season when they were playing 4312

the fact he is a proven flight risk has probably knocked 10 million off his price tag tbh, ac milan doesnt seem particularly upset about losing a key player, normally you dont let such an important player go for a relatively low fee

His wage packet is the main reason they are selling so cheap, put simply, they would probably give him away if no one would pay for him. Milan are in serious trouble financially, incredibly a decade ago they were a world force, but now their turnover doesn't match the revenue they generate, and like most Italian teams they have to pour money into patching up a stadium (60mill a year apparently!!) they play in, and falling attendances in Serie A have killed them.

Would Sturridge and Mario start the same games? Not sure how Mario will fit in with Liverpools play, and also how he will handle sitting on the bench for a few games.

Really cant see this working out well for Liverpool

Sturridge may go out wide, in a front three?

It was reported on a football show here last night that apparently Chelsea were offered 35million for Andre Schurrle from Athletic Madrid, which the club was prepared to accept, but Mourinho issued an ultimatum to the board to say "sell him under me, and I walk".... so they rejected the bid.

Maybe, might be tough to keep both players happy though.

Will be interesting to see how the Kop respond to Mario, specially when he has one of those cant be bothered days.

Thought Pep had said he had all the players he needed. Though they do have a few injury concerns.

Guardiola is supposed to be furious that Bayern hired him on the basis that he would be given a very competitive budget to work with, but then they sold Kroos under him after being incredibly tight, and have since made £45-50million this summer in transfer fees without making much available. They signed Lewandowski for free, and then concluded they had done enough by bringing him in.

In questionably they need to strengthen with one player in the midfield, and it seems that in order to pacify supporter unrest and the managers frustration, the target is now Khedira. Beckenbaeur has said in the last two days that Sami would be a good addition, and that the money will be made available.

From a German press perspective, they have complained about Bayern's handling of Kroos, and they openly refer to Martinez as "the failure". The fact that Lahm was played in midfield last year is also seen in Germany as a strong indication even last year they needed one more player in the centre, so Bayern needs to sign
