Southampton, well played :clap

20 million for Lovren. Liverpool shipping goals all over the shop. Even Zamora had a field day against him.

25 million for Lallana. Done very little, can't hold down a regular place given that he's effectively competing against Coutinho for a place.

4 million for Lambert. Not scored, and basically not kicked a ball.

16 million for Chambers. Gets booked every game, didn't really feature when Arsenal had their main defence all available.

And replaced by Bertrand, Toby, Tadic and Pelle respectively (no need to replace Chambers, as we already had Clyne). Not to mention Forster, Mane and Long, to help improve the overall squad. Oh, and about £30m left over.

league table is a bit weird atm , the gap between 1st and 4th is the same as the gap between 4th and bottom

I see Brendan Rodgers is already commenting about Balotelli's behaviour since Real Madrid game this week.....

Why buy the prat and then complain he acts like he always has? Its like signing a dwarf and complaining he is too small!

The Premier League have taken Sadio Manes goal off him, which makes it 3 own goals.

When only 1 of them was an actual OG.

Five homes games, one goal conceded.

Not the hardest opponents in the world, granted, but still pretty dam special.

I think all of the neutrals will be seeing what Southampton, and to a lesser extent West Ham are doing, and will secretly be cheering them on.....

Its not that much of a suprise to me. Liverpool lost their whole team to Barcelona, Man City havent bought well in recent windows, Man United havent got a defence and neither do Arsenal...... Everton dont spend any money, and when they do its on one player.

Teams who are managed well, and who dont spunk money on rubbish and buy good value players, have caught up those teams at the top simply from bad management and reactive desperation purchasing.

I have said it a few years now, even when Saints were challenging us, but I have massive respect for their setup. Give youngsters a chance, find good value players, play good football and within a good system, seem to get decent managers with clear aims.

Well they deserve it imo. Since the Torres desperation buy, they have made pretty faultless purchases and quietly built a team that is mega strong. Their misses in the transfer market have been hits, they made sound profit on De Bruyne even though he never plays, made back their money on Meiralles, made a huge profit on Lukaku..... and have used the money to buy some real star quality.

I think it was understated at the time, but at the end of the last decade they had quite a rebuild job on their hands when you think of the talent that was reaching the end of their careers. Lampard, Drogba, Ballack, Essien....

Incredibly, the team that won the 2012 Champions League final, only Gary Cahill is now a regular of...

alexis sanchez really strikes me as one of those players that a football fan wants at their team , flair, pace, scores goals and just works so hard for the whole 90 minutes

What an AWFUL game that was today, calling it "football" seems insulting, at NO point in the first half did Stoke attempt anything but time waste, even at 1-0 down ( Shawcross even recieved a yellow for it ) and then in the second half we somehow got pulled into their trap and couldn't string more than a few passes together, BUT our defending was excellent, in particular Toby Alderweirald, who dealt with Crouch excellently.

3 more points, onwards and upwards.

That was a shocking dive by Jordan Henderson, and he was rightly yellow-carded for simulation....
