The beautiful game!

That they do. Cant help but think players go to City for the pay day. City are champions, playing their biggest rivals and are struggling. City did not play this game like a derby game. They did not seem to care. They need a big rebuild. Lost 6 of the last 8 league games. Might yet drop out of the top 4, and if that happens, that will be bigger news than United not making the top 4 last year.

Don't know who was worse, the Chelsea players for goading the QPR fans, or the idiot(s) who threw items at the Chelsea players?

As for the win. It was massive.

As for City, not sure where to start. The problem they have is, they have spent money to add to a team that won leagues, but their actual purchases have been pretty terrible under Pelligrini. Given more money, can they guarantee that they will improve? Currently, you have to say....

Get rid list

Mangala - Needs to go. He has been consistently error prone and looks well out of his depth at this level. 32 million they paid for him though, and wont generate anywhere near that in a resale. May have to try and hope he gets better.

Yaya Toure - Clearly doesn't want to play there, and is 32 soon. His wages would free up a lot of extra cash for someone hungrier.

Demichellis - Never looked good enough, too slow and is old.

Fernandinho and Fernando - 45 million worth of transfer fees for two players who don't offer much in terms of creativity. Not great in the tackle either. Very poor signings.

Navas - Runs in straight lines but nothing else really. Doesn't offer the creativity/passing or crossing that the Premiership needs.

Nasri - Not enough returns for him, and a player that might have a good sell on fee attached. Doesn't score enough, and never really locked down a position to suit his talents with Silva playing in his natural role.

Keep list

Silva/Aguero/Dzeko/Milner/Clichy/Zabaleta/Sagna/Kolarov (last two a good enough as back ups)

Undecided

Joe Hart - Not a top keeper, can lose points when not on form, but without investing heavily in a replacement (which they wont do) he is probably good enough to stay

Kompany - Has looked off the boil for 18 months now, and at 29 they may cash in on him. Yet at his best, he was the best defender in the league, and maybe with another CB addition he might not play so badly.

Jovetic - Looks a fine player, but never gets his chance. Could be sold to finance better first team purchases and sacrifice some depth

Bony - Not been given a chance to prove himself, but then again, I wasn't convinced he was that good anyway.

City have very little power over whether Milner will be there next season, due to them letting his contract run down. I suspect he'll walk away for free this summer if he can get a decent offer elsewhere.

And Kolorov, Sagna and Dzeko I suspect will all be more attractive purchases than the likes of Mangala and Fernando, so if City do want to cull their squad, they might have little choice but to offload the former (with the poorer latter being their back up players instead).

He is out of contract? Who let that happen, apart from Aguero, over the last year he has been their best player and will play literally anywhere....

Lose him and they are bang in trouble..... and with him willing to play anywhere, and be a squad player, anyone who can afford him will want a punt if he comes with no fee attached.

Mangala will remain for at least another year because no one in their right mind will pay what we would be hoping to recoup for him (at least £20m).

I suspect our highest profile casualties to include the likes of Yaya, Dzeko, Milner, Jovetic and Kolarov.

But the form of some of our more prestigious players is a growing concern, too. Usually ever-reliable players such as Kompany, Zabaleta and Fernandinho have all been woefully inconsistent this season.

It's without question that we are in desperate need of a major overhaul.

No idea, but I suspect it's more from City's side of things than Milner.

He's been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal for months now. Given that both can surely offer him more first team football than City, and both can pay six figure weekly salaries, I would not be surprised if he moved to either.

He'd play less than Milner, but chiefly because he'd be injured.

Arsenal will be happy for the 30 mil City will pay though.

Will be interesting to see what Arsenal do with Theo and Wiltshire this summer. Do they cash in on players that seem to suffer with injuries or keep hold of them and accept they wont play more than 80% of games in a season?
