The FA should be dishing out a 10 game ban.... if biting someone is 10 games, then surely a potential career wrecking challenge is also deserving of such? It was realy cowardly from Barnes, he knew what he was doing.

And to be fair, the bloke has history, he was nasty when he was at us.

Don't think the FA can do anything, because the ref saw the incident and awarded the FK to Chelsea

The ref was probably scared he would get kicked by Barnes

Like I said a minute ago, I think if Matic had of stayed down, Barnes would of been sent off.

What a start, 2 debatable penalty shouts for Soton and a cracking Liverpool goal.

Was Barnes passing the ball before he made contact?

I think this ref might be confused a little. Thought he was umpiring a rugby match. :)

He's certainly let a few Liverpool challenges go.

And now Liverpool should have had a pen.

Wow there's another and that's a penalty for Liverpool.

I don't like to criticize refs, but when ever something happens in the penalty area and it's for the offensive team they go all gooey. Yet the slightest touch and the goalkeeper or a defender and you'd think they were handing out a life time ban.

Yep that was a shocker.

I'm not certain about the first one for Southampton because you just never if the striker didn't dive, but the 2nd two were shockers. The one on Striling could have been a red card, it was dangerous IMHO.

I guarantee if another player saves a goal with his hands other than the goal keeper, this ref will rule it as assisting the keeper. :)

I thought the guy went down too easily for the first, Allen looked like he hacked the attacker down for the second and Sterling was taken out for the third. Kevin (the defenders) Friend this afternoon.

Nice control by Lovren with his hand and Mignolet handles outside the box. The boys in the studio won't have enough time to review all the controversies.

Ha,ha yes it's becoming laughable. Pressure getting to the ref perhaps knowing he made some split decision mistakes to the point where now his head is probably spinning. Can't understand why the lines man are not more involved like American Football.

Some decisions were difficult, but it would be nice to see them get a few of them right.
