Also in regards to Lallana, 20mil just isn't enough.

Considering 25% ( in this case 5mil ) goes to Bournemouth

I doubt Shaw will play at the world cup, so his fee will be the same now as it will be come August.

Saints would do well this summer to just hold onto their coach and 2 best players, and maybe get some money for Osvaldo.

The way Spurs do business they are probably already looking for Pochettino's replacement.

Tim Sherwood was actually very disrespectful to Spurs, and all because of rumors he would be replaced. Hardly surprising he lost his job.

He also had the highest loss percentage of any Spurs manager in the last 10 years.

Premiership 2013/2014

Postby st_brendy » Tue May 13, 2014 6:53 pm

I can see Shaw and/or Lallana leaving us this summer.

But so long as we continue to show ambition and give him a transfer budget to work with, I can't see Poch leaving for Spurs. The club is simply too unstable, and yet again will have to fight for a CL place with the noose of Thursday Europa League football tied round their neck. And after last summer, there's no certainty that Levy will allow too many players to be signed this summer.

Keep Poch. Sell Lallana, Shaw and Osvaldo. Give Poch a £70m transfer budget. Sounds alright to me.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

You confident the board will release the funds? 70m would be a good budget and any more youngsters coming through tht could fill the gaps? Who would replace Shaw?

Matt Target has been a highly rated LB for about 18 months now. Was on our bench just the other week. I understand that he's about a year younger than Shaw.

If not him, then we'd no doubt sign a replacement LB.

I see little reason why we wouldn't release the funds. Yes we have £27m of unpaid transfer fees (which is hardly 'financial difficulties' I should point out), but our wage bill is one of the smallest in the league. So the masses of TV money will help us in paying that off, as opposed to needing a fire sale.

Just read Phil mcn on the situation on the beeb. Highly critical of levy but he doesn't half make some ridiculous musings and the final paragraph was obviously his attempt to be Oscar Wilde.
