10 points deduction for Everton. They'll still be ok given the opposition around them.

Newcastle back with a bang against Chelsea today. I was a bit worried about this one, tbh. Chelsea had had that terrific game with Man C, Newcastle had almost no fit players left in the side, but I need not have worried. 4-1 is a comfortable win.

Such is Newcastle's injury crisis, they had 9 players on the bench, of which 3 were keepers and 4 were kids. Livramento and Miley, both got starts and seemingly both played well. Miley set up the first goal, choosing to thread the ball through a packed box to Isak when plenty of players would have had a dig themselves from the edge of the box.... clear thinking. It bodes well that Isak had a few weeks out, but came back and got straight on the scoresheet in no time at all. Just as well, because we won't see Wilson any time soon

Gordon terrorised James all afternoon and it ended up with James getting himself sent off for the last 15 mins, but the game was already over by then. Chelsea just weren't at the races today. Their record at SJP is pretty dismal

away to PSG on Tuesday.... oh lordy!

After watching Chelsea v Spurs and Man City, it was like a different team turned up yesterday. Newcastle dominated from the first minute, but after Sterling slotted a free-kick in to make it 1-1 and then Joelinton missed an absolute sitter/Tripper wrapped his own free kick onto the bar, you got the feeling it might be one of those days and Chelsea would eventually wake up and nick another, but the second half was even more one way traffic.

Was hard to believe at points that Miley is 17. I watched him against Dortmund/Bournemouth, and he looked overawed by the game (which is fair play, hes literally still a kid).... but yesterday My God... was physically bossing that midfield. What a prospect

Remain to be convinced on Gordon, personally. He has a really annoying tendency to be shown the outside by the full back, and when he then beats the man, he cut back across onto his right foot and mostly just passed back to the full back. Needs to learn when a full back shows him to the outside, he needs to whip the ball in quicker. He occasionally displays a good first touch and technique, but he doesn't do much with it. Looks the type of player that might stand out with nice flashes, but he needs to be more effective with the ball. He was absolutely shite vs Bournemouth for instance, and had the ball countless times in areas that were dangerous. I just get frustrated watching him... maybe he will move on and get better, who knows.

You see, I think he's a terrific player. but then I only get to see highlights. He's scored in his last 3 home games, so he's adding goals to his game. he's 22 and hopefully he'll only get better. The difference between Gordon the player since the summer and Gordon the player back when he arrived is enormous.

and... I refuse to say it, because I can't afford to jinx anything, but he stays.... the f word, which must be a testament to his work ethic off the pitch, because he gives everything he has on it

1-0 scoreline, but it wasn't a close game, by all accounts. Man Utd completely outplayed

Anthony Gordon again. tap in at the back post. That's 4 in 4 at SJP, which I'm guessing hasn't happened for a very long time. Shearer is bound to have done that, but has anyone else done it since?

Pope the latest injury. Had to be replaced late on. Fortunately we do have excellent cover in that position. Same team named for each of the 3 matches played in the last 8 days. Still got a good starting XI, but nothing attacking on the bench.... 2 keepers, 3 kids, 4 defenders. Just a shame that this week has a midweek PL fixture, so still no time to rest, even for a moment. Everton away on Thursday and Spurs away on Sunday, before Milan on Wednesday and Fulham on Saturday. Blimey...... something is going to give. The same starting XI surely can't keep this up for long. I think Pope makes it 12 unavailable atm

Livramento impressed again by the sounds of it. Rashford didn't lay a glove on him tonight..... and Livramento is playing out of position, in theory. That might change, because he's pretty much made the position his own

I dont know where Livramento plays to be honest, I have seen Newcastle 4/5 times in the last month, and hes played left back, left wing, right wing, left back, and right sided cb...... and in all of them he looks superb. What a gem of a transfer that is looking like turning out.

I can confirm that 1-0 flattered United, who only woke up with 15 odd minutes to play. Isak missed a good chance, Almiron missed a few, but after the first half it never looked in doubt. Newcastle pinned United into their own final third most of the game, and Bruno/Joelinton bossed the Man United midfield.

One thing you can see more recently is, the reputation of Newcastle being a boring team of grinders is looking like total pants.... at home, they are becoming a very aggressive, attacking team who dominate the ball.

Highly impressive performance, but for United, another dud.
